Hey Chris hope you had a good holiday season!

I'm anxiously awaiting the 2007 season to see what it will bring. I am interested in doing some interceptions if possible. If anyone out there is interested in coming along let me know!

Hey Chris, I saw a program on ABC the other night that was predicting several doomsday scenarios including a little ice age. It was pretty interesting but some of it was really out there, IMHO. What is your take on this little ice age theory? I feel that since the Earth is a living planet that it go...

Re: Army Corps of Engineers Report

I found this quite interesting. http://www.abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=2031098 That is an interesting article. The Corps should take some blame but a huge amount of blame is waste in the pat 40 years in spending tax dollars. The local New Orleans politicians who squandered 40 years of tax revenu...

Hey Chris, I tried the link in your post but it didn't work. I will try to do a search for the article. Here is another interesting article on the same site. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/local/southflorida/sfl-scane17jun17,0,3172585.story?page=1&coll=sfla-home-headlines Take care and hope to...

Hey Chris, Glad to hear the weather has not been too bad for you! Looking at the satellite and radar imagery this morning, it looks like the clouds have encircled the low pressure center but there doesn't seem to be as much rain as yesterday. However, it does look as though, if the storm continues o...

Yep just like we thought the center has reformed farther to the northeast. The NHC lastest discussion has it possibly becoming a Cat 1 hurricane before landfall. The windfield is very large with tropical storm force winds extending outward some 230 miles from the center! Just out of curiosity Hurric...

An after thought for "it might hit here". Take a look at this chart. Notice that New York has been hit by 5 major hurricanes in the hundred years between 1900 and 2000!

That was an interesting chart for sure! Regarding going out? Well, I grew up in S. Florida (Ft. Lauderdale area), lived in Miami, and in the Florida Keys and now am more northernly so I've been through a fair number of storms. I generally do not go out after them all that much now. Some time I might...

What a shame that they would want money for something that could help forecasters save lives. And shame on a public university for selling the model. I'll bet the money didn't go to the meteorology department. Let's wait and see if the football team has new uniforms or a new bus this fall...

Statistics and predictions aside, I firmly believe that any location along the U.S. coastline in any given hurricane season stands a 50/50 chance of being hit.

It's very simple...either you will get hit or you won't!

Any thoughts?

Hey man glad to hear from you. We were pretty lucky for Rita. I was pleasantly surprised that my home survived... it's a 2000 model doublewide...with only some roof and siding damage. My wife evacuated to her sister's in Lafayette but me and a buddy rode it out here in Sulphur. It wasn't as bad as i...
