Hello all,
I have a question about the best fabric for a santa claus suit for an outdoor long term event.
I am the santa for an outside lights display that runs for 45 days in all kinds of weather
(hot, cold, wet, dry). all my suits have one main problem, they bleed red into my white fur trim
when they get any kind of damp. I need to find the fabric that would make a great santa suit
that can work in all kinds of weather with out the fear of color bleed.
Any and all help would be very welcome.

While I am not a taylor, and given that this is a Halloween forum, my first thought was 'bloody santa!'.

That being said maybe go to a fabric store and ask for samples to take home them leave them outside in the rain, on a white t-shirt, and see which one won't bleed out...so to speak.

Sorry, I'm not very knowledgeable about this stuff. I know when I've bought brightly colored dresses from Mexico, I've been advised to wash them in white vinegar to fix their colors so they won't run. But, yes, talk to someone at a fabric store.

I'm going to third that, although to be fair I think having a good Santa suit isn't much different than having a weather resistant Halloween costume!

Once on our street, a new couple dressed as Santa and the Mrs for Halloween. They'd just moved in and didn't know what a block party Halloween can be around here, so they wore what they had.

Nothing wrong with dressing as Santa and Mrs. Claus for Halloween. A costume is a costume.
