Re: A Thanksgiving Quiz
I kinda figured they didn't have potatoes (I believe those came from Central America), but I forgot about watercress. I wasn't sure about lobster, but I knew they would be fishing, so I guessed they did have that.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame

Hahaha It tells me we should get back to the simpler things.
Then we would eat much better.

Yeah, but we're never hungry, either. I think they were a lot of the time. Didn't many of them starve at first? Isn't that why they were having a Thanksgiving feast? They had hard, hard lives. I don't envy them.

.
They also spent the whole day gathering their food. I complain when I have to stop at the store for a gallon of milk.

Hahaha Yes! Something delivered besides pizza and Chinese. Although they're two of my favorite things.

The Pilgrims did in fact, have to hund, gather and grow their food to live. They also had God and their TRADITIONS, which made it possible, IMHO, to survive in the wilderness that America was in the 1600s.

Re: A Thanksgiving Quiz
Beulah is such an old-fashioned name. My friend's mother is named Beulah and was born in 1914.

Re: A Thanksgiving Quiz
It sounds like a nice place, though. I love being out in the middle of nowhere...or at least able to see it from there. hahaha
