Halloween Themed Movie Ideas anyone?

Post by WGOAS » Mon Sep 25, 2006 10:43 pm

Okay, so I'm personally a HUGE fan of Halloween. I have been ever since I was little. I love it.

I also love making Indy movies (Independent Films) and short films.

Well, I have decided that I want to make a Halloween themed movie. Nothing too scary, sort of a feel-good halloween movie. You know what I mean?

Anyways, I can't think of anything. :( I was wondering if any of you nice people out there had any ideas that match the critieria above. :D

Just something simple, not complicated or Horror/Gore ridden. Just a fun Halloween movie that can be enjoyed by everyone!

Thank You all in advanced! (sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this in, I couldn't think of anywhere else to put this).

two ideas:
documentary: find a guy new to the country..follow him around as he interviews folks and finds out about Halloween for himself..or the start to finish Halloween of someone like one of our intrepid decorators..all the work and prep that goes into it..
fiction: film THE BOTTLE IMP by ROBERT LOUIS STEVENSON. You need a bottle..that's all. Cast, location can be adapted here to North America...it even has a happy ending.
Future events such as these will effect you in the future

Hey...I wrote on another thread that I am having an INDY movie shot in my house in the spring...It's a horror/comedy. I am so excited about it.

My cousin was just in her 4th Indy movie...called The Curse of the Wolf.

I have been giving some input in to the one happening here.

I have alot of material since my house is haunted and gives me stuff to write about every day. It is so bizarre.

Anyway...for a cool idea...and this is absolutely what is missing in today's movies...they are too CGI...that is not scary.

Go back and watch the movies of the late 70's, and early 80's, to appreciate what scary is...but if you want a "feel good" horror movie...watch my all time favorite:

April Fool's Day.

I lOVE that movie, and if I was ever wanting to do a movie myself, it would absolutely be that one.

Go check it out, and report back to me.

Oh wow I made an indy movie a few years back. We used a home video camera and props from our house. We filmed it in about seven hours inside our apartment. The story was about a girl who is lost inside her house and she sees monsters everywhere. She finally wakes up and thinks she has just had a nightmare but at the end, a gloved hand goes over her mouth and as it pans back you see she is in a mental ward. Fade to black. It came out pretty good. At least that's what people I show it to have said. It is amateur but I was pleased with it. Our next project is we want to film something connected to the Fatal Frame PS2 games. Japanese horror is spooky in that subtle way but it gets you.

That actually sounds like a neat idea. I jsut have to find someone around my area that goes all out for Halloween.

Any other ideas? I guess it dosen't HAVE to be a feel-good movie, but I want it to actually be able to be done on an extremely low budget.
