Postby hurricane » Sun Dec 10, 2006 7:11 pm

The 2007 Atlantic hurricane season should have above-average activity, a top hurricane researcher said Friday.

Hey Chris hope you had a good holiday season!

I'm anxiously awaiting the 2007 season to see what it will bring. I am interested in doing some interceptions if possible. If anyone out there is interested in coming along let me know!

Brian

Hi,
Yeah, pretty good holiday season! It is unbelievable that this time last year (2006) Zeta had just ended. We certainly got lucky in 2006.

The odds are certainly against it continuing, but I don't bet! ;-)

"Active 2007 Hurricane Season"

Postby hurricane » Wed Mar 21, 2007 7:09 pm

A British forecaster sees an "exectionally active" hurricane season this year. Of course we at Hurricane.com know how inaccurate this type of long range forecast is (see the forecasts for an extremely active 2006 as an example). However, it is an interesting discussion point.

The forecast:
17 Tropical cyclones, 9 of which will become hurricanes.

2007 Winter was warm here in Miami. Not sure how that directly impacts hurricane season, but I've been through enough of them to hope the season is mild.
