I played with a Quija board when I was a kid way back in the early 1970's when the occult was a huge fad, and seances and paranormal parties were almost as common as tupperware parties.

When other people in the house tried it, hardly anything would happen, but when my mom and I tried it together, that thing would practically dance at our fingertips.

I haven't touched one in over 30 years since then. Not out of fear, just not into the occult.

I remember when the occult was popular. It actualy started in the late 60s and was very popular through out the 70s. A lot of people still bring ouija boards to parties and hold seances. My niece is into some of that. She wanted to hold a seance in my house, and I think there was going to be a ouija board involved. I told her "No" in no uncertain terms.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Ouija boards are a good thing to stay away from, Adrien.

I always think of The Exorcist when I think of Quija boards. hahha
But really, I have used them before without anything odd or dangerous coming of it.
They are creepy, though.

There was a horror movie called "Ouija" or 'Ouija Board' came out in the 80's with Tawny Kitaen I think it was...

I'm on the fence about them...Oiuja boards. I had some cool experiences with one and some bad ones too...

That movie was on "Chiller" not too long ago. I watched most of it, but I had to go back to work that night, so I had to cut it off in the middle.

I think my view on this subject can be found in my avatar...

I used to feel that way, too, but then a cousin of mine suggested that evil spirits might come whether you really want them to or not. As she pointed out, you give them an opening and they might take it. Just because you don't take it seriously doesn't mean they won't.

I played with those boards once or twice as a kid, had no patience for them, and tossed them aside. No scary stories from me on this subject. But that doesn't mean that bad things can't happen, just because they haven't happened to me.

I had one, probably still do somewhere in the basement... But it was made by Milton Bradley, and I can't imagine any self-respecting spectre talking to me through THAT. I always kinda wanted to make a homemade one. Not because I believe, but because it's the sorta thing that looks cooler when it isn't mass produced.

It really would be cool to have one home-made. Put alot of intricate and arcane designs on it.
