One of my favorite Hallowe'en traditions. Finding and visiting all the Spirit stores in town when they pop up.

a couple of years ago, while my wife was about 7 months pregnant w/ our son (so we weren't doing very much on the weekends/at night anyway, and every extra dollar was nice) I decided at age 33 to check off an item from the bucket list and work part-time at the local Spirit store during the Halloween season. It was one of the real fun work environments I've ever been a part of. I was looked at by the 18 and 20 year olds working there as a "resident expert" of all of the decorations & props (since, unlike them in high school/college, i'm old enough and have a decent enough career to actually buy a lot of if previously), so I would have an awesome time helping customers figure out what all they needed & wanted. Great time & great store.

That's also on my bucket list is to work there as well! This year I will be getting away from the community college and going away to a university. I work at a local pet store here and they are transferring me over to one five minutes away from my college. With that job I will have just spending money to use. From my campus about two minutes away is a Spirit Halloween! I sense a lot of my time will be spent there!

I just can't wait until next Halloween,
'Cause I've got some new ideas
that will really make them scream!
And, by God, I'm really gonna give it all my might!

I like looking at the stores, I hardly buy anything there, I think most of the stuff there is way expensive to buy, I do like there little party items and wall decoration, and again I really like to look around, gets me in the mood.

Same here. I usually go in there at least a few times a year. They have a great sale though the next few days after halloween however, so I usually buy a few things then!

Thanx for posting this, Nevermore. Hopefully, I can work in a trip today. Maybe pick up something from my Grim Reaper victim. :)
We're the farmer's scarecrows
We scare away the birds,
We keep the farmer's corn safe
Without any words.
But when Halloween comes
We jump out of the ground
And we scare the boys and girls
When they come walking 'round.
