Anyone else take Halloween week off?

Post by rebellious » Wed Oct 29, 2014 2:31 pm

For the past couple of years, I've been taking the week of Halloween off work. Not just because of Halloween but the fall weather. Love burning tree limbs at night and staying up all night watching horror films.

Before or after you take them off the tree?
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

That sounds like a great treat, rebellious :D Just thinking about doing that cheered me up!

Like Spooky, I'll be off on Halloween, too, so I'll get a little taste of the kind of fun you're having this week  Really nice that you can enjoy yourself that way.

Before, duh.

I have a few pecan trees in the yard and they shed limbs like crazy. I literally pick up limbs every other day.

I live in eastern NC and if we ever get bad weather or a hurricane. I could have bonfires for days.

I'm trying my darndest to at least get Friday off but it's always tough this time of year.

I also have a few trees in my yard which like to shed branches, especially with this drought. So bad in fact, I built a wood store this summer. Still have a huge pile of logs from dead trees that I have to split. I should have built a bigger store, sigh...

I also finished the shed behind it this summer, started last summer. Built it out of old pallets believe it or not.

Your job right now is to enjoy Halloween.

I've taken the week off the last 4 or 5 years. Between Halloween and my daughter's birthday on 10/28 it just makes sense.

Didn't get to this year though since I started a new job recently.

Try raising the dead, it will distract you.

I was able to do it this year. Though I've spent most of it preparing for my Halloween party. It was still nice to have the time off.
We're the farmer's scarecrows
We scare away the birds,
We keep the farmer's corn safe
Without any words.
But when Halloween comes
We jump out of the ground
And we scare the boys and girls
When they come walking 'round.
