Ok, I didn't know where else to post this & I didn't want to create a new thread for it.

Has anyone seen the New Movie called Ghost Rider? It's out June 12th on DVD. Is it any good? Let me know ok. I know it has one feature going in its favour, it's got oh so hot Sam Elliott in it ~ Sizzle~:D

For those who don't know who he is, watch Shakedown, Rush, Roadhouse, or Mask, just to name a few.

Anyways, let me know if you've seen it and how it was ok, thanks :)

Does it matter really? There funny to watch ON Halloween.
The dark night beckons. Bear us your soul, it whispers. Expose your wicked delights. Join the rest of us on the wind. The dark night beckons and we answer. Sailing into the shadows.

Christine and The Lost Boys are such awesome movies!

Well eventhough nobody responded to my question about Ghost Rider, I think I might go ahead and buy it, "thats if our stores are still open at that time" and I have extra cash to spend and all this flood supply stuff.

I remember renting "I Spit on Your Grave" back in the 80's when we use to rent movies every friday night. I couldn't watch it all, it was extremely violent, and graphic, and gross. It had a warning about the content on the box.

I don't like newer "scary" movies...they aren't scary to me-they are just gross. The good scary stuff is from the 70's and 80's.

The Last House on the Left-is very whacko...the content is just horrifying.

There's some other ones along that line that I have seen:

Don't Go in the House
and
Death Weekend

Some other good scary movies:

He Knows Your Alone
When a Stranger Calls
Terror in the Aisles
Curse 2-The Bite
Silent Scream
Cutting Class
The House on Sorority Row
Slumber Party Massacre
Sorority House Massacre
My Bloody Valentine
The Legacy
10 to Midnight
Silent Rage
Happy Birthday to Me
April Fool's Day
New Year's Evil
Grotesque
Schizoid
Blood Song
Angel
The Stepfather
Cujo
Prom Night
The Fog
When a Stranger Calls Back
The Birds
The Bad Seed-the original
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
Poltergeist
Fright Night
Waxworks
Friday the 13th part 2

If you don't want totally scary get:

Elvira-Mistress of the Dark
Saturday the 14th
The Watcher in the Woods

Laurie Strode

Here's my horror movie marathon list for this Halloween- some are my absolute favorites, some I just think are really cool, and they're in no particular order:

Piranha (1st horror movie I ever watched)
The Serpent and the Rainbow
An American Psycho
Psycho
The Stepfather
The Howling
The Shining
The Omen
The Exorcist
The Ring
The Lost Boys
The Devil's Rejects
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
Carrie
Halloween, & 2, & H2O
Wrong Turn
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Joy Ride
Friday the 13th, 1, 2, & 3
Shaun of the Dead ('cause ya gotta inject some humor in the mix, right
magickbean? )
Probably throw in some Tales from the Crypt episodes, too.

AND, not because this movie has anything to do with Halloween, but because it still gets my vote for best costume design- 300!! Am I right, ladies???!

Hey Laurie Strode, Did you know that Serpent & The Rainbow was based on true events! It's an awesome movie. And oh, the classic The Lost Boys, The Shining and Carrie, awesome choices :D
I haven't seen 300 yet, but I take it that from what you're saying it's pretty good? Have you ever seen Interview with A Vampire? Queen of The Damned? Also fantastic movies!

Oh, gee... I stumbled on a good thread! I love movies. I can tell ya all about some of the ones that were asked about.

First off... I love how "Ravenous" makes Nostalgiascape's list of movies. Mehehe. I salvaged a copy of that from the $5 bin because the music alone makes me laugh. The movie isn't "great", but it has cult classic potential if the cards are played right. =)

Ghost Rider: Is based on the comic books. It's about a guy who makes a deal with the devil to save his dad's life. The devil comes to cash in the deal and make the "Ghost Rider" (Nicholas Cage) find the contract of San Manuel before Black Heart does. I had to watch it a couple times to "get" the background (I didn't read the comics), but thought the movie was entertaining-- though not one of my favourites. My husband really loved the movie. He was familiar with the comic books before he saw it and he loved "Ghost Rider" enough to buy it.

Blood & Chocolate: Is a werewolf movie that's actually pretty decent (Think 5-bajillion times better than "Ginger Snaps"). It focuses on a romance between an illustrator and comic book writer (who is working on a werewolf comic book) and a girl who works at a Chocolate Shoppe. There are a couple different sub plots going on besides the human-lycanthrope romance. I really enjoyed the movie and thought it was unique. My husband also liked the movie. I'd eventually like to own it. =)

If you ever need to know what a movie is about, feel free to ask me-- I've seen a TON. In an Arizona summer, it's too hot to be outside playing around... so I see a lot of movies when we want to do something, but don't want to brave the 110*F weather.

Hey, Dutchess, yeah I actually have The Serpent & The Rainbow on DVD with an intro at the beginning talking about that..sweetness! You gotta love a horror movie with some truth behind it- makes it that much creepier..and who knew Bill Pullman could've pulled off that kinda role so well??

I have seen Interview with a Vampire, DANG, I shoulda put that one on there-good call! I've read the book too, somewhat of an Anne Rice fan although not all of her stories have been as great as that one. I was in the room when Queen of the Damned was on, but to tell you truth I'd had one to many beverages to remember much of that story.

As for 300.....oh, that 300. Yes, it is very, VERY good- a tale about a Spartan king and his 300 warriors going to battle to defend their freedom against the millions in the oppressive Persian army. The best costume design award is for the Spartans only wearing long red capes, leather loin cloths, and leather strappy sandals the whole movie, and for them ALL being UNBELIEVEABLY built. Especially the king Leonidas himself, played by Gerard Butler (also Dracula in Dracula 2000?). He's extraordinary, man, just beautiful. ANYWAY, enough of that.
