My Halloween paintings

Post by Spooky » Sat Aug 04, 2007 12:05 am

I just started painting as a hobby. I had painted my entire kitchen in a mural, and these guys that play horseshoes across the street from me, asked if I would paint their bullentin board-so I did...and painted them a big giant mural. So, now I was bored...even though I am working on making a Halloween yo-yo quilt-to go around my Halloween tree as a tree skirt...but I am setting up over at the Harvestfest this year, because I am selling my own salad dressing...it is a cranberry vinaigrette, and I am giving out flyers for our pumpkin carving contest at the B & B, and I am giving out brochures. So, I decided to paint some fall/ halloween scene pictures and take them to sell. I took 1 painting in to an art gallery today, they said they would try selling it...if they don't...I am going to take it to the Harvestfest...I thought I'd show you guys what I am doing, since it does have to do with Fall and Halloween:

Here's the Halloween ones:

I painted those last 2 today. I think I can pound out maybe 25 of them, between now and the beginning of October....for something to do.

What do you guys think??

These's are honestly the first paintings I have ever done, besides the 2 murals I did.

I think your paintings are quite remarkable! If you painted those quickly, I can hardly imagine what you might create if you took a bit more time. Wonderful work.

Thank you! It took me about 2 -2 1/2 hours to paint each picture.

But...this mural took me awhile...I still have stuff to finish on it, but it has been so hot here, that my paint dries out...plus so do I- , in that kind of heat.

Spooky, that's really neat. You really have a gift for subject matter. Your ideas are very original!!!

HM - why don't you start your own thread about the art work you find.
