Halloween Candy Swap
I was talking to Dutchess of Darkness in the Introductions thread about Halloween candy in the UK and the US and I was thinking.. maybe it would be fun to do a Halloween Candy Swap??!
On another forum I am a member of, called Heavenly Hair, they do international candy swaps quite often and I was thinking it would be very cool to do a Halloween themed one - that way people in the UK could get a sample of candy corn and other such mystical treats and people in the US could get a taste of Thornton's chocolate Halloween lollies and Cadbury things (or whatever's difficult to get over there....?)
I think it would be a really sweet idea (ha ha did you see what I did? A Pun! Ohh the wit.. haha.. oh.. heh.. hm..sorry)
Reply if you're interested and I will draw up a little list of people who want In and write a little questionaire about what sort of treats people like so we can fill it in and then do a Secret Santa- esque swap. As I haven't seen many people on this board who are from the UK I am happy to swap with a couple of people if no other Englanders are in. We can set a price limit for the candy to make it easier too
What does everyone think?

Oh my gosh. Sugar babies are these tiny little beads of brown-sugary carmelly goodness that always taste just like fall to me. And popcorm balls are big wads of buttery salty popcorn held together with a sticky sweet corn-syrupy carmelly mixture, also a Halloween tradition to me.
And the peanut butter toffees. Everyone hates them, they come in black or orange waxed paper wrappers, and they are made of a chewy peanut butter toffee with a bit of real peanut butter in the middle. They are super cheap and come in HUGE quantities, so they're the last thing everyone ate out of their treat bags. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who likes them, but they are so quintessentially Halloween to me.

I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

Any more people in for the candy swap??
I'll draw up the questionaires and send them out by the end of August so you've got til then to opt in. I'm guessing Hallloween candy will be available in shops by September?
Just wondering if one of the admins could make this a sticky so it doesn't disappear? Pwwwease?

Well, it would depend on weight and the size of the package, of course...I would think, well, get a small box and imagine putting a little of this and a little of that into it...box of Sugar Babies, some little Snickers bars, and so on. Maybe some bubble wrap to protect the candy...
At one of my local 99 Cents Only stores they've got spiders filled with red goo...you unscrew the head and drink the red blood syrup out of the neck! Now this is very gruesome, but you can understand the appeal here.
