Halloween Invitations

Post by NATUREPIXIE » Wed Jun 20, 2007 10:11 pm

Well I think I have decided on my Halloween Invitations. This is what it will say:

Double, double, toil and trouble,
Fires burn, and caldrons bubble...
Calling all witches, goblins and ghosts
The Miller Family will be your host...

Stop on by for a trick or treat,
Wicked hors doeuvres will be plenty to eat...

October twentieth, two thousand seven
The cauldrons will bubble at half past six,
arrive on time or there will be trouble to fix.

Costumes Required!

Bring your invitation for a chance to win a door prize.

Okay, here's the invitation that my hubby and kiddo's picked....

I made three samples invitations for them to choose from: a witches hat , a cauldron w/ a witch hat beside it, or a black cat...

This one got all the votes!!! (except for mine, I liked the witch hat.) LOL

NATUREPIXIE, what a talented witch you are...making your own invites and a poem, too. :D I love little rhymes, aren't they fun? We like to make our own invites at our house, too. Thanks for sharing the pic. :D

I am very impressed - you are extremely creative and on top of your game this year!

And I love the invitation. I would frame it when you are done :D

Funny you should mention this...

I made my first scrapbook this year for my daughter's 18th birthday. And now that I have invested in all the rulers, cutters, scissors, stamps, etc, etc, etc....I feel like I should continue.

SO...the next project will be to scrapbook some of the HUNDREDS of Halloween pics that I have collected over the years. I have enough right now to fill several books!! I've been collecting stickers, and papers, and such as I come upon them in the stores. And a kind Halloween friend just sent me some awesome Halloween rubber stamps. :D Of course, this is on the list of things to do...SOMEDAY...

That is such a cute poem! I love it!

I wrote this poem for my invitations to last year's Halloween party (at my mum's house):

On the 28th of October, 7:30 at night
I am hosting a party of devilish delight
With punch and a feast that’s fit for the dead,
But please do feel free to add to the spread!
The guests will be dressed in costumes to revere
If you do not fancy dress, thou should not appear!
A prize for the best shall be awarded to some,
So I invite you, dear friend, to join in the fun.
At Winter Manor this ghoulish gathering is due,
For directions, a map on the back is your clue.
We hope thee will attend and join in the glee
Of our very special, very spooky, happy Halloween!

I underlined the bit about fancy dress with a big red pen lol - and everyone heeded.. all were in costume :D

Great idea Magickbean... I smiled when I seen this thread becuase while I was at work today.... suppose to be working... LOL... I was printing off Halloween invites I got from the internet for my childrens party I am having on October 20th... your poem would be great for my adult party... would you mind if I used it??? I would totally give you props on the poem though!

Oh yeah I printed off a bunch of Halloween certificates for each of the children I am inviting.. personallizing it to each name like....

Moaning Marlee
Maggoty Maggie etc....

The silly website I used there was http://www.123certificates.com/halloween . I did this last year for the childrens party and it was a big success... LOL.. shows what my work day is like huh!!! especially since they got color ink in their printer! LOL
