Spookyboo's Halloween Theme

Post by spookyboo » Wed Aug 15, 2007 3:34 pm

I should have been a bit more clever with my clues...
Yes my theme is going to be Circus/Carnival An old fashioned Carnival circa 1890-1920
Only not as they looked then but how it would look now if it were suddenly dug up ...
so to speak. My friends and I have been painting these cool sideshow posters and I am going to put up small tents outside there will of course be a fortune teller and a few pop out scares booths with a few win a prize games..only the prizes will reflect the holiday. I am hoping to be able to find a couple of live acts that I can hire, like a fire eater or something I am looking into it. Inside the house I am going to drape the ceiling with fabric so that it looks like you are inside a tent. Its very ambitious but I want to come back with a Bang!!!
If you have any Ideas please post them I would love to hear from you.
Thanks

Hey Spookyboo, I just love your theme, it sounds spectacular! Well I don't know if these are all possible, but they are just ideas like what you wanted. A Creepy Looking Carousel playing creppy music. One Cd I have in mind is one that I own. I listen to a lot of Nox Arcana, and they made a CD based on an old Haunted Carival, the Cd is called "Carnival of LOst souls" it would be perfect for your haunt, and I think you will agree so be sure to check it out. Their website is http://www.noxarcana.com All their music is just beautiful and perfect for Halloween or if you're like me, then year round.
And I agree with MammaHooch, CLowns freak the Sh*T right out of me, especally the evil looking one like from Steven Kings movie IT.
ANd what about a touch of good ol New Orleans, you could have some Voodoo women doing something, and some people wearing some of those freaky masks like they wear at the Mardi Gras, they turn and look at you as if they are looking right through you.
Well thats all I can think of at the moment. Kudo's to you for coming back with such a bang, thats so inspiring :D

MHooch - Clowns freak me out too!!!!!! I do not know why but I believe they freak lots of people out. Perhaps its because they can some how fit 15 of them into a miniature car....

I'm sorry Spookyboo, I felt like I completely ignored your post. And I've gotten on other people for doing the same thing. I got cued into the clowns and got side-tracked. You really do have a good thing going there.
How about a skeleton ring master? :)

 I .. hate.. clowns.. *shivers*

But in other news, your theme sounds spectacular - from your hint I had guessed that it would be a circus theme but I still thought it was a very clever clue! It's going to look amazing - kudos to you for such a visually rich idea.

If you can, post pics on the progress - I'd love to see them! :D
