I think we should seriously contemplate it, especially as I just read that within the next 2 years, they will be introducing flights as cheap as $12 from London to New York with Ryanair......... :D

Hmmm, those $12 flights sound great! If we had to spend $3,000, whew...I'd have to get all kinds of creative to save that kinda money!

And Salem is a awesome choice! Of course, we'd have to consider New Orleans as well.. 8)

I would love to go to Salem as I have never been there. Although having said that, I've never been anywhere in America before lol. I had always wanted to go to New Orleans as well, as much of the Vampire Chronicles takes place there :D

Maybe we should take a poll of the posters that are interested in meeting and plot a place that is central to where the most people live.

(Sorry magickbean and Harry in the UK, and DOD and Penny and our other Canadian friends, nowhere is really "central" for you, is it? :( )

What do you all think of that idea?

Hehe well, as long as I can get there via public transport, I'm in! (And of course, here's hoping that the flights get cheaper!! ;) ) I have always wanted to go to the US, especially for the holidays, and this seems like a perfect opportunity. Talk about a landmark Halloween!!!

I will volunteer right here and now to pick you up at Dulles international airport near Washington DC (not too far from my house) and we can travel the rest of the way (wherever we're going) together!! Wouldn't that be fun??

 *gasps* would we be going in the Magic Pumpkin??? :D

That would be amazing fun!!!! You're so lovely to volunteer to pick me up! I am not a good solo traveller - I have no sense of direction and tend to get on the wrong bus/train/plane lol

That sounds like fun! Add even more: along the way from the D.C. suburbs to Salem, Mass., drive through Sleepy Hollow, New York, and follow the Headless Horseman.

The Old Dutch Church and Cemetery of Sleepy Hollow. And the trailer from the Tim Burton movie.

I can't wait to google Salem and check out all the coolest spots that need our attention on this trip! Thanks for the good start there, Cadaverino! :D I bet we won't be the only Halloween lovers to end up there on this most eventful occasion- we probably should book hotels and whatnot way in advance!
