Costumes for fat guys

Post by revelesnet » Fri Aug 24, 2007 2:48 pm

You would think that Fred Flintstone would be a costume that there would be plenty of for tall fat guys, but they are hard to find anyone have any ideas?
Is it Halloween yet? and by the way it's not makeup it's jaundice.

I'd make a Flintstone costume. Just orange, black, and blue fabric. There has to be a pattern out there somewhere, and if not, it's basically a toga.

Go for it!

I gotta tell ya, living in Texas, you have NO idea how many big ole boys wear overalls. I bet you could find some and make an awesome Jason costume, that's what my husband did last year. You could also be a scarecrow or a redneck with a good pair of overalls.

Let's see . . . I've seen a few big guy costumes premade, one was a beer keg, and it had a little headband with a "tap" attached to it, it was cute.

Oh, scrubs come in pretty big sizes, you could be a crazy doctor, with some blood smears and syringes, or if you're a little bit raunchy, a "freelance gynecologist" (sorry if that bothers anyone!).

Or, speaking of toga's, you could do a tribute to John Belushi in Animal House.

Personally, I love a good-sized guy in a gangster style zoot suit, I think that is pretty darn sharp.
I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

I found a couple of sites for you:

But Dr Strange is right, wouldn't be hard to make yourself.

Ok I have a friend who is fairly large and he had the BEST costume one year. He bought a kids XL Big Mac costume. On a child it looks huge but on him it was like a tight tshirt. It looked sooooo funny though and he got it for $5.00.

To this day everyone remembers his big mac costume.

Hey revelesnet, Most of the on-line Halloween costume stores all carry a plus size section for both men and women, you could check them out, even if its only to get ideas. :D
