I need advice

Post by spookyboo » Sun Sep 02, 2007 2:59 pm

Ok I am currently making up invitations for my Halloween Party....
I usually hand make them because I like the look better than store bought
Last party I used a simple Black card-stock with a stamp of a cool dead tree in silver white in the center, then I printed in scroll on a piece of parchment and adhered it inside.
I used sealing wax and little black tassles on the envelope.

Here is the problem ....I was going to do a similar kind of simple card because I found a cool graveyard stamp....ed gory style ( By the way I love Ed Gory ...you must read his alphabet book if you havent already) Anyway...Now that I have a huge new theme I thought I would get more ambitious and designed a 4 page invitation with pull out sections that hide the information kind of like a pop up book. It looks cool.....but I have like 22 invitations to make
Its going to take a long time...My husband is no help.....

My real question is ...... should I go simple and not as dramatic or cool and save time I can use elswhere or should I go for the big elaborate bang?!!!!!!
Wild Winds thou shalt blow
carry away my saddened soul
tis the time of Judgement

My instinct says, go moderate....not too simple, add some bells and whistles for fun, but still simple enough.

I think tom's right... moderation seems like a good idea.

What about just a smaller invite with just a couple popups-- something that'd still look cool, but not take quite so long to put together sounds like the happy medium.

... though, now I really want to see what your 4 page invite looks like!

P.S. Don't stress yourself out, go with simple. Handmade is still a big enough deal these days, don't make it too hard on yourself. When it stops being fun, I know I'm going too far!

Spookyboo, I'd go with simple. Save your energy for your larger scale decorating projects. I'm sure your guests will be spending far mroe time admiring your party decor then the invitation, just a thought anyways :D I'm sure no matter what you decide everyone will love it :!:
