What Ever Happened to New Horror Releases in October???

Post by Pumpkin_Man » Mon Aug 24, 2009 5:27 pm

Has anyone else here noticed how all the best horror releases seem to be in August, November, February or at times of the year other then October?? What gives?? Don't get me wrong. I love a good horror film no matter what time of the year it's playing in the theatre, but I think it would have been nice to see movies like "Halloween 2" and "The Wolf Man" released on October.

What do you think?

I'm sorely tempted to wait till October to see Halloween 2 but I'm afraid it will be gone by then.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

I'm so freakin' tired of Saw......yawn, the same old thing leaves nothing to the imagination. Too much blood and guts, anyone can make a movie like that! It's getting that way with Final Destination too. I want to see something different and new, something that hasn't been done before. It doesn't really matter to me if they get released in October or not but I guess it adds more to it and gets you ready for it. I could watch horror movies year round!

I heard they already filmed SAW VII in Canada, but they wrapped it up and placed it in safety area, so it will not go out until next year.

HAHAHA i think i do kind of like the re occuring series though bc its really the only movie that has traditionally come out on or around halloween. although it is tending to be repetative.. i don't care.. i like gore so i'll probably "rent" all of them eventually to see em

I actualy enjoyed "Saw" 1 and 2, but like most of you, it got to be repetitive. I did NOT like anyof the "Hostel" flicks, though. I thought they were just torture, blood and gore just for the sake of themselve. There was no real story line, the cinematography was mediocre at best, and it was one of the mors predictable films I ever saw.

Saw 1 is still the best one and as for new horror releases Trick R Treat will be released on Oct 6TH on DVD and Blu Ray you can pre-order it at Amazon.com along with the soundtrack it's been a long time coming for this movie i can't wait to see it i wish it had a chance at theaters but i'm satisfied with a DVD release

I did enjoy Hostel movie, but really didn't enjoy Hostel II at all. I heard that Eli Roth is not going to direct Hostel III, so someone else will direct it. I'll see if I can find out more info. :)

Like I said, the "Hostel" movies had no story line at all, and LOUSY cinematography. I have no intention of seeing any more of those flops.
