I used wood carving tools and pumpkin master sculpting tools, knives, and poker.... but there are also other tools I've heard are useful such as Speedball linoleum cutters and clay sculpting tools. I've used a dremel tool on pumpkins too... but I didn't like how that got flesh everywhere. It was a big mess to clean up.... and I had to wipe my pumpkin down every few minutes just to see what I was doing-- though they are good for detail work.

yea i bet a dremel does make quite a mess haha
i'm pretty artistic so the complexity really isn't an issue. i've carved a many a sculptures out of random canvases lol

I also have a page at Geocities at http://www.geocities.com/writerpatrick/pumpkin which will be up until Geocities shuts down this month. I've still yet to setup a new page at my new site, although I probably won't do that until after I've done this year's.
