Jetpack Ideas

Post by SpookyBlackKat » Sat Oct 03, 2009 12:48 pm

I'm looking around for ideas to build a non-working jetpack for my spacegirl costume this year. I've seen a pack made from a mailbox but I can't get my hands on one of those mailboxes very cheaply. Do you guys have any crafty ideas to create a cool pack?

what about creatively decorating a box.. then from the bottom.. insert 2 pvc pipes (how ever big you want em) paint those and kaboom! a jet pack is born
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

how about basing one off the one they use on the Quaker oats commercial, made out of two large Quaker oats tubes?

.
I think what would be cool would be to buy,
or... ahem... lift a couple small fire extinguishers
and connect them together. Decorate them up
and come out with something like this...

You'd have the added benefit that if you can
figure out a way to trigger the extinguishers the
backpack would look functional.

Edit: Probably end up with a cold butt, though

LOL! In that case, I may pass. Although it would be sweet to have a jetpack that (appears to) work!

I may try the quaker canisters. Or some combination of canister/decorated box idea. I'll definately post pictures once I get it done! :D
