So...the obvious question.

What should I be?

One of the by-far most asked questions is 'what should I be?' In the past I've never been the very creative type, though I don't do the overdone vampire-ghost-werewolf-Spiderman-Harry Potter costumes.

I'm a high school freshman. In the past I've been a hippie, a prisoner, and an old woman (I'm a boy, by the way). I usually like costumes that get a reaction out of people. I'm not usually into the scary kind of thing (though in 5th grade I was a Harry Potter Dementor). I just want it to be cool, whether it's scary or funny. I want people to notice me.

So, what shall I be? This is my last year trick-or-treating, and I want it to be worthwhile.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame

I'm from the Detroit area of Michigan, USA. Why?

Haha, allowed? I mean, if you really wanted to, you could trick-or-treat when you're thirty years old, though I doubt many adults would be willing to give you candy.

Once you turn a freshman, it becomes sort of uncool to trick-or-treat, so that's why it's my last year.

Any suggestions?

.
You want to be noticed?

I once did a grim reaper costume that freaked people out. I used a glue-on appliance skull mask but you could paint a skull face or use a cheap pull-over skull mask. I got a cheap reaper costume from the Spirit store. It came with a plastic scythe blade, I simply went into the woods and found a long bent branch to attach the plastic blade to.

The most important part of the costume though... I made a pair of walking stilts out of 2x4s and I extended the reaper cloak with some black cloth which I attached with velcro so I could use the costume without the stilts. I now have access to drywaller's stilts so I may try this again some day.

Needless to say, when I walked down the street, or into the party, all eyes were on me. I went 8 foot tall so it was hard to walk and hard to get through doorways, took some serious getting used to and my legs got tired quick. Watch out for ceiling fans! Even at 6'5" this effect would be great with the right costume.

just curious and jealous really lol teens aren't really welcome to ToT where i'm from...

have you thought about doing anything that involves culture...?

what about a GIANT Tiki style mask (maybe 4 ft.) while wearing a male hawaiin skirt.. some wore those giant masks before battle as good luck and to scare the opposing tribes... i've never seen that done before

NeverMore, nice idea. I also really like Adrian's idea, but up here in Michigan it isn't exactly warm. It's in the 30's.

Thanks for the input, but me and my three friends have decided to be the Teletubbies. I'm the purple one, Tinky-Winky.
