I Liked the Way She Suffered

Post by adrian » Mon Oct 19, 2009 4:02 pm

This isn't where we should discuss this... not here... not amongst these walls. Brick. Brick. Another brick stacked on another. Clumsilly mudded together..
Oh if these walls could talk.. some say...
sometimes these walls do talk! at least for moments they used to.. well this one at least
brick, brick, and another..
its not really the voice behind the wall i was affraid of.. it was the one outside it...
the one with me... right here beside me, behind, in front, all around, and sometimes in and out of me, through me as if i'm made up of holes... but then only few times
I'm not proud of this wall
The voice behind it didn't last too much longer.. a day or so..
i lasted longer because i ate.. i couldn't get a plate through that wall if i wanted to.. not even water
the mud is dry now.
the voice had become faint
not her voice though
she keeps rambling on about how he ruined he dress
its ok voice, he won't be able to ruin any one's dresses anymore...
the thing is... i liked the way she suffered
i liked it so much that i sent him to her..
she left like a coward... i say left but its more like she has become trapped
like this house is a spider web she sways in and out of
thats ok...
i liked the way she suffered
so i built this wall to quiet him down... over a few days of course
i sent him to her
i sent him here...
away from me, to her, but still around.. get it?
brick, brick, and another
she'll suffer soon, soon after his voice stops behind the wall
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Read it again, keeping in mind what I said. Funny how a story's meaning can change based on what's in your head at the moment.

It does tend to remind me of 'The Telltale Heart'.

he had a poem called the tell tale heart where the beating heart of his victim under then floor boards drove the killer insane, and there was another one (I forget the name) where the husband bricks up his wife in the wall (or something like that) I might need to go read again myself....
