Oh wow

Post by xtina666 » Tue Oct 20, 2009 1:00 am

Last week I went to the Dollar giant, a dollar store here in canada where everything is $1. They had TONS of Halloween stuff, costumes, decorations and so on. 2 Aisles full of Halloween stuff!

I went back today to grab a few things and wow..everything Halloween is gone! There is now 2 aisles of Christmas stuff! Halloween hasn't even come yet!

Pisses me off!

.
Chaps my hide!!! They probably weren't selling enough so they cut their losses and jumped on the 'other holiday whose name I won't mention' bandwagon.

I hate seeing Xmas decorations before November...come on...give Halloween its due. It makes a ton of money so why do they cut it out like that? Ticks me off...

Walmart used to dedicate the garden center to the Halloween stuff, not this year, this year they have 4 isles, one dedicated to costumes, one has things like makeup, pitch forks, and accessories, the rest is candy. I went there last night and they were setting up Christmas trees in the out side garden area and all the other <deleted> in the inside area and they will use the WHOLE area for christmas......wtf??

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

It's pretty fricken sad with all the revenue Halloween makes but I bet they figured with the economy the way it has been the last year or so that no one would be buying Halloween stuff...

Well, in some ways it's a good thing though. It forces you to be more creative and invent some stuff yourself or look for things in other areas besides the chain stores...maybe good for some local shops and stores.

I agree except the little stores are charging twice as much for the stuff :(

Yeah that part sucks...but they need to charge that much to stay alive I guess...or they haven't figured out that the same thing costs less at Walmart. Like I said before thoug it forces you to become more creative and make some things yourself.

They still think it's like the old days and they can charge a lot more than it is worth and then complain that Walmart is screwing them over. They need to be more creative too...maybe their business would increase.
