I can't say I agree with this, Halloween should ALWAYS fall on the 31st, but if you think
otherwise feel free to sign the petition at http://www.spirithalloweekend.com/

It's sponsored by Steven Silverstein, President of Spirit Halloween stores (DUH!), who
recently took the issue to Washington with Wonder Woman, Popeye, Scarecrow and
Dorothy at his side.

As long as I've been an adult, we've always celebrated Halloween on the weekends and
always will. Plus, the current system keeps those pesky Trick-o-Treaters out of our hair
when we'd rather be at a Halloween party.

did they fail to mention that Spirit Halloween has made a ton of profits having Halloween fall on a Sat? No wonder they want it changed permanently

Oh no no no, no no, no, no no no. Huh uh. Nope. No way. Absolutely not. Halloweenmonth is thirty days long, with Halloweenmonthday on the first and Halloween on the thirty-first, and that's the way it's gonna stay, regardless of what may be more profitable for some greedy corporate scumbag. Lobby to make it a federal holiday; close the schools and government offices. But Halloween is on the 31st. End of.

If this passed, next year we would lose one day of Halloweenmonth. The following year, two days. In 2012, we would lose FOUR DAYS of Halloweenmonth. FIVE DAYS in 2013, SIX IN 2014!! It would be 2015 before Halloween fell on the 31st again!!!!

NO F#(%!NG WAY!!!!!!

this is rediculous!! being the first site that pops up when you type in halloween (google or search engine wise) we could really have an impact at stating our opinion on this some how... what could we do? have a mass section talking about a major boy cott on all spirit stores? what could we do? this is ludacris.. i can tell you one thing... i won't be shopping there anymore

Halloween will always be the 31st and parties will always be on the weekend...but you cannot change the date Halloween falls on...no way.

yea i dont' really see that happening either.. its an official calender date... i see him having a TON of trouble trying to do that ... kinda pointless really!! "well lets just move christmas to every saturday that way more people can be off work for it" yea.... hopefully his efforts will be worthless
