The post Halloween blues.

Post by Samhain » Sun Nov 08, 2009 6:25 pm

I can't be the only one going through this right now.
My house looks naked, as does the front yard.
I guess when you look forward to something months in advance, it is inevitible that you'll have a big let down when it's over.
It's good to have a board like this where you can come and talk to people who understand. I'm feeling like I wish we could get the last three weeks back.
There's just a sadness I go through after every Halloween season. Even though it's been a week, I'm still in the dumps.
Anyone else feeling the same way?

Can't reply right now. Too busy making plans for next Halloween. I'm soooo excited that I have a whole year to look forward to it!

Hope that changed your perspective.

The thing I'm looking forward to is that Trick-o-Treating will be on Sunday so our big party will occur on Saturday like it usually does. Even if I have to work Saturday it's unlikely I will on Sunday so I can drink myself into oblivion Saturday night. My friends with kids didn't want to do the party on Saturday this year because they didn't want it interfering with ToTing and time spent with their kids.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Yeah, I've gotta admit I'm having a bit of pHd (post-Halloween-depression), but not as much as most years. I think the Halloween.com therapy sessions have really helped out this year.

This has definitely helped. Hanging around here.
I had a few blue days after, but now I'm looking forward to holiday parties.

I'm still not looking forward to the "holidays", but at least I'm not sobbing uncontrollably about packing away the skeletons.

Baby steps.

I o.d.'d on Christmas this weekend :)
I had the fireplace going and made a pumpkin pie & watched Jim Carey's Grinch. It was waaay to long but the visuals were awesome.
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

Andy you are so lucky, I was suppose to see The Grinch & everyone bailed on me. :( I don't even care if it was long, I really want to see it!! The fireplace is going and you made a pumpkin pie, I would have flown by if I would have known!!!
