Is it just me....?
When I'm on the Christmas forums I notice there's a "Night before Christmas" discussion.
Well...call me crazy but it seems like every time I see that...I keep thinking it says "The Nightmare before Christmas" discussion! Anyone else notice that too?
Maybe it's just my Halloween spirit trying to coincide with my Christmas spirit!

This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Re: Is it just me....?
So far they have a nice forum. I think they're kind of like us Halloween maniacs...except they're crazy for Christmas.
It's a great atmosphere...very different though compared to here. I mean, it's just as warm and friendly...but instead of ghosts and ghouls you have...a winter wonderland. If this forum is like Halloween town then they're the Christmas town. They're like the opposite end of the spectrum so to speak. Well...I suppose I could be talking about the holidays too..not just the forums.
But I love Christmas and Halloween about equally. So it's a nice change to go from spooks to snowmen.

I've never been to a Christmas forum, either.
That sounds like a good one.

Go back to the home page and open santaclaus.com, operated by our good friend Halloween.com.

I had to pm a mod to ask where the 'view active topics' button was.
I fully admit to borrowing the background graphic for my desktop, but it's really too busy for a web page.

Re: Is it just me....?
I wonder if we can find other Halloween references in Christmas.
That Jack Frost seems like a pretty creepy fellow. :p
There was a warlock in "Santa Claus is coming to town"

Re: Is it just me....?
I thought they were more comical than creepy.
There's an evil wizard in Rudolph Christmas in July if I remember right.
Oh wait...I almost forgot about Befana the Christmas Witch.
Anyone ever heard of the Christmas Witch? In Italy their version of "Santa Claus" isn't a round plump and jolly fellow the drives a sleigh, but rather a woman named Befana who, according to legend, was approached in her home by the Three Wisemen who asked for directions. She didn't know, but was invited to join them to find the Christ Child. But Befana was too busy with her house work. Later on however, she changed her mind and tried to catch up but to no avail...so to this day she brings presents to good children...and like Santa Claus brings coal to the naughty ones.
It's always so fascinating to find what other cultures think of. From what I remember, she even rides on a broom.
