Great thread idea! I didn't even notice the title when I came to listen to the song you posted.

The new stuff (country music) smacks of pop to me. Nothing beats Waylen and Willie.
My buddy's mom used to listen to Willie Nelson all day long. He hated it! We were real
head-bangers.

Well as you probably already read, I'm the child of a hippie mom and brought up on the 60's psychedelia. My dad gave me my knowledge of country and now and then I listen to it.

I grew up rock and roll but learned to enjoy country later. Now it's what I listen to the
most.

Back to my buddy hating Willie because he got over saturated when he was younger. My
mom listened to classical and my dad listened to big band. I couldn't stand those types of
music when I was younger but know I can say I truly appreciate them. Combination of
good music and melancholy I guess?

There is something for every mood. :) I like classical, but I don't listen to it often.

Rock is still my favorite and blues right there with it.

George Jones - He Stopped Loving Her Today

Did you know the reason he stopped loving her today is because he died? This song took
on a whole new meaning for me when my buddy explained that. It was also instrumental
in teaching me to start listening closer to the lyrics of songs.

I love that song, and no, I never knew that was in there.
I usually really listen to lyrics, and somehow always missed that.
That does change the song. Thanks.

This is a great song, I think. From a fantastic movie, "Oh Brother Where Art Thou".
Did anyone else see this?
