Cat People remake (1982)

Post by iHaunt » Tue Jan 26, 2010 12:11 am

Excellent erotic and gory underrated remake of the 1942 horror classic! This one has Malcolm McDowell, Natassja Kinski and John Heard. Any thoughts?

Well, Cat People is very good movie, though... but I've never seen the original 1942 Cat People version. :?

I have seen both, the original on a TV late show when I was about 12, and then the remake in the early '80s. I remember liking the remake a lot, but I haven't seen it since, so I don't know how I'd react to it now.

I seem to recall that David Bowie did the music for the '80s Cat People. I think that was one of the things I liked about it.

Thanks for finding that montage to the Bowie theme. I couldn't remember the song, just that I really liked it. That was a good instance where the song/vocals etc. really enhanced the movie and expressed the theme. Wow, I hadn't thought about this movie in forever! But it was very erotic, that's for sure.
