A week ago one of my (non-dumb) roommates from college went to Disneyland with her family. It was her, her husband, their new baby girl and their 3 y/o daughter, Hannah. They decided that Hannah was old enough to go on the Pirates of the "Carry Bean" ride, so they did. My roommate said she and her husband were laughing so hard at their daughter who kept saying:
"OoOooh. Skeletons. Just like at Jordan and Katie's House! They're not scary! I like skeletons."
I just have one word to express how proud I am at having warped this young mind-- AWESOME!

It's fun to warp the young isn't it? My kids are all that way too...Halloween is their favorite and I intend to make sure it always is

They say that life's a carousel
Spinning fast, you've got to ride it well
The world is full of kings and queens
Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams
Its heaven and hell, oh well
I am Vengeance...I am the Night!
I swear to God...[Batman]SWEAR to Me!!

Why that is downright great news!
I was involved with helping form the outlook of a young person from 8 until he left for college and my greatest triumph was imprinting a deathly fear or spiders in him.
Nothing says funny like hearing the girlish scream of a 6'2", 220lb defensive lineman as he discovers a realistic rubber spider in his sock drawer

All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

Prepare for death & follow me.

There's nothing quite like it when a child starts to really get into the Halloween spirit. It brings back sone fond memories of my own childhood when we would do Halloween art projects at school, the Charlie Brown Halloween special would appear on tv, and the farm stand at the corner of 111th and Central Park put out the pumpkins for sale.
