Home haunters rules?

Post by iHaunt » Sun Nov 06, 2011 11:36 pm

Does anyone have a general list of rules for the home haunters? Can you please list them here? I'd like to see some good rules here.

Thanks,
iHaunt :D

I have one: If you decorate your home or have Jack O'Lanterns for Halloween then answer the door & give out candy!

We had friends who took their two girls ToTing, they knocked on a door where a Jack O'Lantern was lit & the people in the house turned their lights off & didn't answer the door! :x

Oh, that's silly. Maybe they ran out of candy. The appropriate thing to do then is to turn out the light. Or maybe just tell folks, Sorry, we ran out.

Exactly! I was very annoyed when our friends told us this! :x

That's a good rule. I'd like to make it mandatory for EVERYONE to haunt their yard and pass out candy, but that might be a little extreme. The Halloween Grinches really irritated me this year.

As they did me too!

Next year we should all shame a local Halloween Grinch! :)

You mean most of your neighbors don't even give out candy? Wow, I guess TOT really is still pretty new over there.

There are certainly some dark houses on every street here. Some people don't like the holiday, or perhaps they have other plans and just aren't home that night. But there are always plenty that do participate.

Only in my street Murf. In other streets around my area there are plenty of people that take part. For instance my son went out into the street just around the corner & came home with a bag full! :D

Ah, well, that happens here, too. The best street in our neighborhood is the one about two blocks down from our house and around the corner.

Oh, it's not just one house, but a whole street of them. Yes, yard haunts like you wouldn't believe. The homeowners vie with each other to see which one can out-do their neighbors. That street turns into a street carnival on Halloween night. It's the sort of thing most people would pay to see, but it's free, and of course people drive in from all over town and park their cars on the one vacant lot at the end of the street to walk down it.

I've noticed only a few home haunters put a sign on the front porch with some rules like this:

No running
No fighting
No spitting on grass
Do not touch props, pumpkins and everything
No smoking, eating or drinking
Do not steal anything

I've never seen anyone post signs like that.
