NBC is teaming up with Britain's Sky Living Channel to create a 10 episode show based on Dracula. The title role is going to Jonathan Rhys Meyers from The Tudors.
"Dracula (Meyers) arrives in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier but falls hopelessly in love with a woman who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife."
Sounds a bit like a reverse Dak Shadows.

Looks great to me! I didn't like him as Henry VIII but he might make a damn good Drac.

Looks like it could be fun, as long as you don't expect anything close to the novel.
I guess this show is taking Grimm's Friday night slot, since Grimm is moving to Tuesdays?

SPOILERS!
Hmmm... gotta say I'm a bit disappointed so far. I knew it was going to be a period piece but I didn't realize they were going to make such drastic alterations to the original character. I have no problem with them changing the story to suit modern audiences (see Sleepy Hollow), but Drac is an American, and a good guy!?! And AvH is his cohort?! Get outta here! I could have accepted these changes if they would have modernized the story like the aforementioned Sleepy Hollow but I ain't buying. I'll keep watching because I've been wrong before but I don't hold high hopes.

MORE SPOILERS...
Did you miss the beginning when we first see Dracula reincarnated? Renfield has to explain to him how the word 'schedule' is pronounced by Americans. Dracula is posing as an American. I also got a bit of an anti-oil vibe in the first episode. I hope that doesn't become part of the narrative of the show.
