...starring Meredith O'Hayre."

Not sure if this could actually be considered Halloween reading or not, but for horror movie addicts like me, this book is a lot of fun. =) It's a little like the TV series, "How to Survive a Horror Movie." Here's an excerpt:

Survival Tip: Invest in Caller ID
The call coming from inside the house!

It's impossible to know how many lives were unnecessarily snuffed out before the invention of Caller ID. After all, would you ever even answer the phone if it said, "Incoming call from Freaky Little Dead Girl at the Bottom of a Well"?

And there's no doubt Drew Barrymore would have made it past minute six in the first Scream movie had she been able to pick up and say, "Hey a**hole in the feaky skull mask - I have your callback number here!" Most of us have been rocking Caller ID since the mid-nineties, but a few Stone-Agers out there refuse to pay extra for this "modern" convenience.

If you (or your parents) are one of the holdouts, consider how much your life is worth. Won't the extra $3.27 a month pay for itself in the long run? Hey, whether you're avoiding telemarketers or a recently-escaped-from-a-mental-institution murderer, you know better than to pick up "Incoming Call: Private Number."

Scream Queen Says There are few things more satisfying than sending a serial killer to voicemail.
