well, folks...

it's that time of year again...

i'm getting started a bit later than usual but that's okay...

i've decided that the weekend after labor day is a good time to begin...

besides, a catalyst came along that helped me to make up my mind...

a few years ago, while still living in new york, i had the opportunity...

to watch sam raimi's excellent Evil Dead II on the big screen...

it was a midnite movie at an indie theater in greenwich villege...

and today i learned that the same movie will play tomorrow at midnite...

at our local single-screen theater, the oldest in louisiana, here in new orleans...

therefore, that film will be the kickoff for this year's horrorthon

Wahoo! Your horrorthon announcement can only mean one thing... uh... uh... I forgot. :( I think it means something's coming? I love the Evil Dead movies. Especially the second one. I seriously doubt the reboot is gonna be near as good. Nobody can take Bruce's place.

I have never seen this one, The Hound of the Baskervilles, is it any good?

This reminds me. I've had 'Fright Night Part II' in my Netflix queue for a couple years and they still don't have it. None of the Redboxes or Blockbusters near me have it either. You can buy the DVD from Amazon for a measly $60. I'll pass! What's the issue with that movie?

fright night remake started slow but grew on me...

i truly enjoyed the folkloric elements included in this new film...

i'm still spoiled to the original but overall this was a fun flick

It really isn't very good. I saw it in the theaters at the time. None of the charm of the original is in the sequel.

It's October 1st and 67° in New Orleans! Turned the air-conditioning off and opened the windows! After the long, hot, humid summers that we experience each year, this kind of weather is absolutely glorious! Anyway, after work I went by our local Spirit Halloween store, picked up a few goodies, and then came home and decorated...
