Okay, so what was the big day yesterday, I'm a little slow today? It sounds like you had a really good time!! I love Irish Cream Liqueur in my hot cocoa, I have had it on the rocks too, yummy!!! But what is Jameson?MacPhantom wrote:In honor of the big day yesterday, I enjoyed some St. Brendan's Irish Cream Liqueur on the rocks with a health splash of Jameson. If Krampus and his whip came to see me last evening, I was far too numb to feel the lashes.

Witchy!! Did you read the first post in this topic?!? What was the big day, she asks....
Jameson is Irish whiskey... Much milder in flavor compared to single malt Scotch whiskys, but very good for mixing, especially in Irish cream liqueurs.... Your Bailey's, your Brendan's, your Carolans... Also great in egg nog, and it makes a fine whiskey sour... It is also palatable neat or on the rocks if for some bizarre reason you're only interested in getting drunk really quickly, and not in enjoying your alcohol.....

Lived my entire post-age-21 life with the same dilemma, until last year, when, for some inexplicable reason, my county revoked that stupid law, and now our liquor stores are open seven days a week!!!Belladonna wrote:Ahhhh Brendan's Irish Cream! I can feel the mellow from here!

There was talk of repealing that law here. We must be part of the bible belt, because they still have it on the 'blue laws' book.
We are still in the dark ages here.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

I wouldn't doubt that at all.
That old moonshine is rough stuff! Have you seen that they put out a legal brand of bottled moonshine? I think it's called Moonlight or something. I heard it really quick on a Sunday morning news program. I will have to look that up.

My buddy's uncle used to bring honest to goodness moonshine up from West Virginia.
We would often manage to acquire some of it from his folks house and would put some in
just about everything we drank.
One night we were walking to the store and saw a cop we were friends with sitting in his
car watching the bar across the street. He asked us if we could get him something to drink,
some water maybe. Naturally, my buddy grabbed some of that sippin whiskey and gave it
to him. He took a big gulp and dang near blew his head off. Took him long enough to
recover that we were able to run away and hide. Stayed hidden for about three days, we
did.

Yet another example of how prohibition leads to increased criminalization of the citizenry. If cops were only allowed to get plastered while on the beat, you wouldn't have had to scamper away.
