Dark Shadows
I was wondering how many of you remember the original tv series "Dark Shadows?" I use to race home from school every afternoon, so I wouldn't miss that show. Ironicly, it was "Dark Shadows" and not Dracula or "The Wolf Man" who introduced me to the world of vampieres, wearwolves, witches, ghosts, haunted houses and the like. I remember one scene from "Dark Shadows" when one of the Jennings cousens turns into a wearwolf, breaks free from the restraint he put on himself, and attacks a waitress at "The Blue Whale." I was only about 8 at the time, and that was my first time ever to see a wearwolf. I had nightmares for weeks.

Re: Dark Shadows
I didn't see the original series. I know they made a remake in the early 1990s which was entertaining. If I remember correctly, it just got cancelled so didn't have any real ending.
As soon as my ten year old finishes with Twilight I'm going to start it. From what everyone says (particularly my college age cousin) it is a good series.

The original series use to air on ABC, which is WLS tv Channel 7 on the old anologue dial back in the late 60s. It ran from 1966 to 1971. It is to this day, my all time favorite tv show.
The Sci Fi channel aired it for quite some time, but stopped in order to airi their own movies. You can still get the original series on DVD through Dan Cursis productions.

Re: Dark Shadows
I watched the original Dark Shadows when I was a kid and was totally in love with the new series in the 90's. Why do vampire series never seem to make it??? I know there have been several, and one just started!

I'm totaly with you on the 1991 Revival Series. I was really disappointed when it was cancelled, and from what I understand it was cancelled because it was not 'politicaly correct' enough.
The original series was laughed off television by the critics, but it had a following of over 20 million viewers. I don't quite understand the reasoning behind it myself, but I would love to see "Dark Shadows" on the air again.

I loved this. Remember it when I was a kid, (although mom wouldn't let me watch it I did see it at relative's houses occasionally). Watched it when the Sci-Fi channel re-aired it back in 2000 or whenever it was. Does anyone know if they're ever going to do that again?

I don't know of any tv or cable station that is airing it or is planning on doind so in the near future, Moticia, but you can get the DVDs from Dan Curtis Productions. They have a web site where you can order them.

Nah. I never buy tv series on DVD. I just don't end up watching them enough to make it worth it.

Re: Dark Shadows
A lot of people feel that way. Most of them prefer to rent them. I have them on VHS, and am in the process of transfering them to DVD. I prefer DVD or VHS because I am not a huge fan of comercials.
