The Mid October Report

Post by Nostalgiascape » Mon Oct 13, 2008 4:00 am

Well we're halfway through the month. How is your Halloween season going so far? Are you spirits up? Or are you remaining conservative untill the final week. What Halloween tasks have you accomplished this moth thus far?

I can't wait until Halloween!!! I have a Halloween countdown on my wall and I always doing something with my costume. I'm going to my hometown for Halloween so I can really only carve a pumpkin for decorating (whether my friend likes it or not) (I'm staying at my friends house). Where I live, Thanksgiving is in the beginning of October, so this weekend (which was thanksgiving) I bought a mini pumpkin and scooped out the insides and put a flower arrangement in the pumpkin (I carved a face too) to give it a Halloween-y twist.

I'm heading over to my fiance's in a bit and we might start doing some decorating. Hopefully it's not too early to start decorating, I'm always afraid of rain, sun and/or wind ruining my decorations. I've been so busy working my my master's thesis (which I turned in today...yay!) that I haven't even had a chance to get into the Halloween spirit!
I've learned there are three things you don't discuss with people: religion, politics and the Great Pumpkin. - Linus

I got into the Halloween spirit in August! I get excited for holidays as soon as the last one is over. The second Halloween ends, I'll be excited for Christmas!

I made the mistake of delegating something to my husband... a month ago... STILL waiting for it to get finished. "Oh, we have time" he says... but y'day I told him, "Dude, there are still things I wanted to do once you were done! FINISH YOUR STUFF THIS WEEK!!!"

I really need to take time and go through all my Halloween boxes today and decide what I want where-- I have work, church, and home to worry about this year-- I need to get organized.... go through what I bought this year and see how it can fit for other years. I also need to see what I have and how I can use it for other things....

Finally got an idea from a friend this weekend for how to make an IV drip chamber for the IV I'm doing without having to order one from online ... but I can't set the IV up 'till I have a working cadaver. *shakes the fist of frustration at the husband*

I have been burning pumkin scented candles, I have all of my inside decorations put out. I'm ready to set out my pre-lit pumpkin outside at night, not quite ready for the real one yet. I have to dig out the rocks in my front yard to set up the tombstones. I'm planning on setting up a small table with a tv and dvd player with a scary movie on. I will also be playing some Halloween music complete with fog machines and black lights. Oh, yeah, I'm going to be a clown for Halloween. lol I love this time of year and don't want it to end! I do love Christmas too but I love the feeling more than getting gifts. My kids love it too! LOL

I am so excited for Halloween! The day before Halloween my friend who I'm staying with is having a Halloween party and the theme is "When hell freezes over". Shes going to get an ice rink and fire pits in her yard! I'm so excited. I'm already packed and my costume is ready.
