Any Special 4th of July Plans

Post by MyersFan1 » Fri Jul 03, 2009 9:36 pm

We are slowly but surely coming closer to October as once again it is the fourth of July. Does anyone have any special plans?

I am going to a very rural area about 45 minutes from my hometown to watch fireworks of course and enjoy the spooky, Halloweenish feel that rural areas bring. I am very excited to take a break from the city for awhile, and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Well, my grandmother's having a picnic, and I plan to watch fireworks in the neighboring town park. And I plan to visit venders and such since they have a festival down there.
By the way, I'm really liking the pumpkin in your signature!
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

I live in the Lakewood area of Dallas. We went down the street to this hill and watched the fireworks that the country club puts on. It was packed. Excellent show and everyone was in good spirits. It's nice seeing little kids playing with sparklers and families having picnics on blankets and whatnot. I guess the country isn't going downhill quite as fast as we thought :)

I BBQ'd burgers and brats, cooked up some baked beans and of course corn on the cob.

Sat around for a couple of hours digesting :-) then headed up the hill to watch fireworks from all over the valley below.

Perfect 4th.

As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,

I had a great nite with fireworks! :D

We had turkey burgers, hot dogs, macaroni and pasta salads, soft drinks, etc. We watched a good old movie "A Fistful of Dollars" last nite, then we all went outside to toss some fire crackers. The next door girls shot some rockets up in the air, and it exploded with beautiful colors of fire sparklings!

Happy belated 4th of July Folks:

Awe come on! You mean that nobodyh ere likes to grave themselvs a handful of packs of firecrackers from a brick and light the fuses themselve? I went through a brick and a half of firecrackers, a brick of exploding jumping jacks and a whole host of other 'neat stuff.' I hate to say it, but the 4th of July is almost, very very close to Halloween in my heart. Fireworks on the 4th of July are as important a tradition as pumpkins on Halloween or a Christmas tree at Christmas time.

I also use orange smoke bombs and firecrackers on Halloween some times, too. I have about 24 or so orange smoke bombs for my outside Jack O'Lanterns this year.
