I musta missed Spooky's picture of his cat. :(

Congratulations on you latest getting you mad scientist, Witchy. As he arrived yet?
We're the farmer's scarecrows
We scare away the birds,
We keep the farmer's corn safe
Without any words.
But when Halloween comes
We jump out of the ground
And we scare the boys and girls
When they come walking 'round.

Cool. Here's the new werewolf I'm hoping to add. I try to add one every year. Isn't he adorable?

Cute but scary. Love it.
Halloween wraps fear in innocence,
As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...

Wicked cool, RDM. Reminds me of the saying "You can be a king or a street sweeper, but everybody dances with the reaper."

And I ordered the werewolf off Etsy. He should arrive sometime this week. (Do the happy dance)

Not sure if I heard that saying before, but I love it!

I originally heard it in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. I always assumed it came from the Bergman film they riffed their death character from, but I could be wrong.

Would that be The Seventh Seal? It's been so many years since I saw that, I'm not sure about any quotations from it.

Yes, that's the one. I've only seen the end of it, so I don't really know that much about it. I understand it's a classic and have always meant to sit down & watch all of it, but haven't managed it yet.

I watched it on VHS about 20 years ago. For some reason, it didn't affecct me as I'd thought it would. I actually thought the ending was funny. But then, I tend to have that reaction to Ingmar Bergman films. They are just so OTT depressing that they always make me laugh.
