i have just finished making a coffin for my bride. my husband and i are not very handy with saws, drills, and nails, so we are very proud of what we have done. i have placed a bride in it and i need your advise. i have used a foam head, i was going to place a skeleton mask on that, but i think it looks ok as is, as she is meant to be dead, so the white face looks ok. right? i also know i need to restuff her and i want white gloves. all your help would be greatfully recieved.

What advice did you need? She looks great!

I have a styro-head for my cadaver this year, but I didn't like it as it was-- I shaped some model magic to give it a more masculine face. I'm also going to glue tea-stained papertowels to the front (like Martha Stewart's "Head Waiter" prop). Hopefully it will look more real... we'll see. Either way, your corpse bride looks fine.

I do like the idea to stuff gloves (tip you probably already know: use the end of a pencil or stick to push the stuffing deep into the fingertips)... but have you thought of stuffing nylons and sticking them in shoes? I don't know if kids will be seeing the bottom of her dress, but it'd add a little reality to the bride if she had legs and feet sticking out the bottom. =)

Wow! That's the biggest coffin I've ever seen!! Looks cool! 8)

And, for the hands, I recommend latex hands (rubber) or white gloves, if necessary.

How abut a set of fangs. Then she could be the bride of Dracula. I know. It sounds a bit cliche, but then again, that's me.

oh yes! didnt think to stuff stockings for the legs of her shoes, brain freeze!! lol. i put shoes at end of dress but looked silly, yes yes i will stuff stockings and then put shoes on her. no i did not know about the pencil trick to stuff her gloves. and yes i saw a site on making those rubber hands, but, i dont have the stuff and to go buy it i say would be expensive, so she will just have white gloves. sorry but dont like the idea of fangs. but i was thinking a little bit of lipstick. thanks all again for your advise. i love this site. its the weekend here and i have decided that i am going to buy a fog machine and make a chiller, will post pics if it turns out alright. just have to find a cheap ice cooler or esky as we call them here. but to buy a big one at a discount store still costs around $60, so am going to ask around my friends if any one has an old one. i dont like the idea of polostyron ones as i hear they leak. anyways thanks again. am having so much fun on this site and also making all my props, i know its still weeks away, but halloween is so exciting i cant wait.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
