Stolen Headstones!

Post by Haunt Master » Tue Jan 06, 2009 4:25 pm

COLONIE, NEW YORK - Police are puzzling over what would motivate a father and son to haul off six tombstones from a monument company in suburban Albany.

Town of Colonie Detective Lt. John Van Alstyne says he's not sure what kind of aftermarket here might be for the hefty granite grave-markers.

Police charged 35-year-old Demetrius Lanier of Albany and his son, 19-year-old Shateek Lanier of Troy, with felony criminal possession of stolen property. They were sent to Albany County Jail without bail.

The men were arrested after police got a call around 1 AM Sunday about a suspicious truck at Stefanazzi and Spargo Granite Co. A Traffic stop of the rented truck turned up to the six monuments, which weigh 300 to 600 pounds each and are valued at $6,000.

People always think stealing is the answer when they need money or food. It's not the answer.

Yes, I know that! Not only some people who steal Halloween props would keep for themselves, they would have to sell them for extra cash!

Same thing, they would steal Christmas props for money too!

And some people will steal just for the sake of stealing.

Believe it or not there is a market for those stones. There was a company that specialized in marbel and granite grave stones in my old neighborhood and they wer erobbed quite a lot. They had to put up a huge 8 foot cyclone fence with barbed wire on the top in order to deter theft.

Also, in order to deter the grave robbers, some companies need to hire a security guard to spend all night to secure the yard as well as inside the company too. ;)

The guy in my old neighborhood had guard dogs. Dobermans and Wrotweilors to be exact, and they will litteraly tear anyone limb from limb.

Guard dogs are great if they are well-trained. ;)

When I was 11 year old I used to have 2 dobermans and they were well-trained guarding dogs. All they do is protect around the house inside and outside. But the problem is when they hear some gunshots, they will be afraid and they will run inside the house to hide. So, if they see the gun in someone's hand, they will attack!

They are trained to do that. They will usualy go right for the wrist of the hand that's holding the gun, but all the perp has to do is take the gun in his other hand and shoot the dog while the dog is busy biting his other hand.

That's why they usaly have more then one dog on guard duty.

Some dogs are good and quick grabbing someone's wrist and make its drop the gun down. ;)

It's all in the training. Police dogs are very well trained to do things like that. My brother has a Wrotweiler that could actualy generate enough pressure with his haws to break a man's shin bone.

Wrotweilers can be quite scary and very dangerous in many cases. My brother had two Wrotweilers. The first one he had was actualy very friendly and out-going. He loved to play and loved all of us brothers. The doe he has now is not quite as friendly, but he does warm up to us when he has time to get to know us better. When he barks, it's more like a roar, however, and he's not as good-natured or as out-going as the other Wrotweilor was.

When I was a kid, I had two Irish Setters, male and female from different litters. We mated them and sold the pups for quite a bit of money, but when we moved to New Lenox, the mail died, and we had to have the female spaded.
