Ugh! More Snow...

Post by TK421 » Sat Mar 07, 2009 6:03 pm

Yesterday was actually a nice day. I was able to do some cleaning, and even take the motorcycle out for the first Spring ride. I was really hoping to take some time today (Saturday) to go through the garage and start cataloging Halloween stuff, and make my "To Do" list for the coming season.

Then, today, grey clouds brought in more snow. Not a good day to start organizing the garage. So, I'm on the board -- 'cause I'm bored.

Please Spring! Please come to us!!!!

Yesterday (Saturday) was fantastic here in No. Cal. I clipped and trimed a huge patch of bushes and then wandered about with the ol' camera.

The ducks were in rare form and the wildflowers are starting to explode everywhere.

The sunset was from my drive home Friday night. Sometimes you just have to stop.

Today it's cold and overcast, so I'm glad I got out yesterday!

Here's some pre-spring pix for those of you still suffering from winter.

Wow! I vaguely remember sun and flowers.

I spent Sunday drudging around a mud-filled backyard stacking wood.

Saturday was okay for a while, I was actually able to go for a walk with my wife in the morning, but then in the afternoon it hailed and snowed (again). What's really frustrating is that I was outside building a new railing for the deck when it started hailing. I had to jump all over the place to get my tools back inside.

I like winter, I really do. I like the snow on the ground and in the trees -- but this year I'm just really ready for Spring and Summer. I look longingly at photos from last summer and wish I could feel the warmth of a 70 degree day and feel the sunshine on my face. Not to mention, walk around and not squish in mud and soggy grass.

Summer, summer, please come quick!

I have sympathy for you.

we got snow 3 whole days up here in Northern California, which is pretty odd because we're only at 1400 feet and on the ocean side of the hill.

We got more snow this afternoon. Had to go pick the girls up from school because we couldn't trust when the bus would get them home.

Please, please let summer be around the corner.

Spring does not officialy arrive until March 21st, the day of the Vernial Equinox. But I agree. I'm ready for some warmer weather without rain or snow. My motorcycle really misses me, too.

Hmmm...I'm the opposite. I want snow! Heh but here in Texas we only get it maybe twice a year. I can imagine how bothersome it has to be for you guys that have it for weeks on end. Too much of anything is bad I guess.

I absolutely love cold rainy days and even now after a few days of it I'm ready for some sunshine and warmth. It was 80 and sunny last weekend and by Tuesday it was stormy and in the upper 30s. We go back and forth drastically like this for a few weeks during late Winter, early Spring.

I can deal with the rain we get in the northwest, but the cold and the snow tends to frustrate me a little. I love the scenic beauty of the snow on the ground and on the trees, but I get tired of the "school is two hours late" routine and the poor drivers.

The "spring tease" is always the worst. You'll get a few days that are actually pretty nice, say clear skies and 55 degrees, and then another system will move in and it's cold and everything is damp or wet.

This is the time of year I want to get my bike out and have the ability to ride until October.

Ok, here it is, Sunday morning, March 15th, and we are getting more snow. It was pretty in the beginning, because it wasn't sticking, but now the flakes are really big. They say the snow will leave by this afternoon -- when a big wind storm comes through!!

Good thing I have Doritos and Supernatural season 3.

Here are a few pics from the backyard.
