Full Moon tonight, March 10th 2009

Post by Andybev01 » Tue Mar 10, 2009 12:09 pm

Not like anyone here needs an excuse to celebrate Halloween, but tonight is a full moon.

Since the time change occurred last weekend I leave for work in the dark and this morning the almost-full moon was hanging above the ocean huge and orange like the Great Pumpkin.
I would have stopped for a photo but my camera doesn't do so well in dim light :-(
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

That sounds amazing. If you can, please try and take a picture or two tonight so we can all see. Maybe your camera will be forgiving. :)

That's the thing about the time change. They say they're adding more hours of daylight to the day, but the reality of the situation is that they are just adding it to the other end of the clock. I usualy leave for work at 7:00 am, and with the time change that's before the sun comes up.

Sorry TK, experience has shown that the best I would get would end up looking like a UFO photo.

No worries. I do love a good harvest moon. I need to get a good telephoto lense for my cameral so I can really zoom in on the moon on a good night.

I thought "Havest Moons" only happened in the Fall, not late Winter or Early Spring.

True, a traditional "Harvest Moon" occurs in the fall. That should give me plenty of time to get a good telephoto lense for my camera.

Any shots of a crisp, full moon are nice.

I have some great telephoto shots of the last "Blood Moon" we had.
