Werewolves

Post by Pumpkin56 » Tue Sep 27, 2011 5:44 pm

So I was just thinking about these things and all the different ways they are portrayed on the big screen. Some werewolves actually look like Timberwolves. Some, like the one in American Werewolf in London look like some kind of big, scary, hairy, wolf-like beast. And there are some movies, like Ginger Snaps and American Werewolf in Paris were the werewolves are just...weird. They're like big hairless boiled rats or something. Some movies make their werewolves capable of walking on two legs and some are strictly on four legs. So, that said, how does everyone prefer their werewolves?

I like them with some fava beans and a nice chianti.
It's not our fault, they pulled a mind scramble on us. They opened their eyes and talked.

Werewolf and frog juice also go well together.

Well, isn't werewolves different from Wolfman??? I like the Chaney portrayl as the Wolfman! He was more like a man and wolf features. But isnt a werewolf more dog/wolf looking features??? But in the original Wolfman, Bela Lugosi turned into the wolf/dog looking creature! David Nautens werewolf transformation was excellant! The Twilight werewolves are pretty cool looking, but again, for the movies, to girly for my liking.

I love any werewolf. I like the shapeshifter type from Twilight, and the mega-scary ones from The Howling. Those scared me when I was little!
I love Lon Chaney's take on them, too.

I'm under the impression that werewolves and the wolfman are the same thing. It's essentially the same translation--'were' is man so man wolf, wolf man. One thing that I require in my werewolves is that they are furry. I kinda like it if they are able to walk on two legs as well since they are wolfmen. I'm finicky like that :)

Now Lillith, would you consider the werewolf above your post to be a handsome boy? :)

I never though of it that way before? I thought Wolfman was considered a werewolf?

I've never thought about it that way either. I go by the basics: werewolf or wolfman= man that turns into a wolf. How the appearance is interpreted is up to the storyteller I suppose :)

Werewolves are my favorite halloween/mythical creatures, so I take this quite seriously. I think the pefect looking werewolf would be a mix between the werewolves in The Howling and Dog Soldiers, but with straighter, believable fur.
Also, has anyone seen Princess Mononoke? I want a giant wolf like the one she had.
