Re: Abandoned Six Flags New Orleans - Creepy
Like I said, it would be a shame, becasue 6 Flags use to run a very tight ship, and as far as I know, was once 2nd only to Disney. Of course, Disney is not just theme parks. It's entire resorts. I think 6 Flags is just theme parks and water parks.

Re: Abandoned Six Flags New Orleans - Creepy
Silly ihaunt... the Jan 2011 demo date came from the video. You checking on things you've already posted? The photographer had to have right of entry to legally enter the property. To get that, he'd need to know the property owner (The City of New Orleans)... and they may have confirmed or told the photographer the Jan 2011 date.
Also, don't believe everything in wikipedia-- it's only as up-to-date and factual as the people updating it make it.... and even then it should still only be used for gathering cursory information on a subject.

I want to film a zombie movie there!

Re: Abandoned Six Flags New Orleans - Creepy
I just got an e-mail from 6 Flags about a day ago. They say that the sold it to the City of New Orleans, and the City plans to have another amusement company revitalize it, but so far it hasnt' happened.
As for 6 Flags losing money, again, judging by my experience the last time I visited Great America, I'm not suprised. The food was lousy, the service was lousy, half of the best rides were closed, including the Great American Eagle, which IMHO was THE main attraction there, and it seemed to be a major hang-out for every type of hoodlum and gang-banger there is. Nobody wants to take their wives and children to a place where crack dealors come out to play.

The one in St. Louis Mo, is still a very nice place for an outing and for families. I also like the newer water parks up by Great American which are also 6 Flags company, but for some reason, they let Great America decline. Go figure. I really wouldn't want to bring kids to that place the way it is now. Perhaps 6 Flags will send better managers to run a tighter ship, and instill better security so not to attract the wrong element.
At any rate, I might be taking my grand nieces and nephews to 6 Flags over St. Louis next Summer if I can afford it.

Re: Abandoned Six Flags New Orleans - Creepy
I heard there are some gang-related people over there in St. Louis, MO. I really can't remember the story what people told me about it in the past when I was in high school. Some people do drive by shoot, rob at the food marts, fight on the street nearby the store, carnival, amusement park, etc.Pumpkin_Man wrote: The one in St. Louis Mo, is still a very nice place for an outing and for families. Re: Abandoned Six Flags New Orleans - Creepy
There will allways be a certain amount of 'riff raff' in any amusement park. They do attract all kinds of people, but the one in St. Louis Mo seems to be better run then Great America. Great Americ was over run with gang bangers and other assorted hoodlums. Security was very lax, and the quality of my time there was questionable at best. As I said before, the food was dreck, and way over priced, and all the best rides were closed. We ended up leaving early, because there weren't even any shows on the day we went, and the kids got bored. So did I. To add insult to injury, I paid almost 30 bucks for each of us to get in.
Not worth it.

(Can't think of a witty retort this morning that won't have a little double entendre in it... Actually, the current local topic of interest is whether or not the LaRaza program will be able to continue teaching sedition in public schools. Though, I guess the feds in Washington are crapping their pants today over whether or not it should be illegal to hire an illegal worker in Arizona... while they determine whether or not they'll be giving away US citizenship like fruitcake during the holidays. *eyeroll*)

I was gonna cobble together some left-wing political point, but to be perfectly honest with you, I can't stop thinking about how much I want a waffle now.jadewik wrote:... only if he won't leggo my Eggo.
