Dying soon? Shop Wal Mart!!

Post by Nostalgiascape » Sun Aug 07, 2011 3:01 pm

Giving up the ghost? Don't plan on being around this Christmas? Are your plans for next years Halloween to scare the blue fire hell out of people in actual ghost form? Well your friendly neighborhood Walmart has you covered. Don't let those pesky funeral homes take you for your last "dead cent". Why...you too can buy your coffin online at Walmart. Because nothings as exhilarating as buying your final resting place at the same place you bought underwear and socks.

If you time it right you can be buried in those same underwear and socks.

As I am now so you must be,

You can buy a big screen HDTV for about the same price as some of those caskets.

Um..duh, yes its the first time I noticed they sell caskets because its silly as hell. No one thinks Wal Mart and the vision of caskets pops up in their heads.

well then, I am honored that I was here during your moment of "learn something new everyday"........

It is odd they sell them and IIRC they arent that badly priced. I can get one locally off eBay tho for about $450, I might do that someday rather then go through WM or Sam's, or I just might make another one my self.

When I think of all the junk food they sell I often think of caskets.

Damn thats screwed up! You're supposed to sell clothes and food and whatever, but CASKETS?!? The hell, Walmart! Gotta make money off everything!

Well, if they are serviceable caskets, I suppose they might fill a need. Funerals cost a fortune. My MIL died last year, and her funeral cost about $14,000. The casket was a major part of that expense. I assume the ones at WalMart would be far more affordable.

The thing is, neither I nor anyone else I know thinks about going to WalMart for something like that.

I admit I never had a clue that Walmart was selling caskets, but then again, you have to look at it realisticaly. Funerals are more expensive then ever. The cheapest possible is 6000 dollars. My late brother was creamated, so they put hin in a basket type of a deal that was shaped like a coffin, but was designed to burn easily. That wake and funeral, after all costs were added up, was about 6500 dollars, and that bas back in December of 2001.

Yes you guys who have lost loved ones make good points. If Wal Mart saves you 3 or 4 thousand dollars on a casket, then its a good thing. It just seemed so out of place and random when I saw it.
