So are mine. And my mom (God rest her soul) would load hers with oodles of salt pork. It was a feast in and of itself.

If you look closely, there are some yellow leaves in the trees beyond the neighbors roof.

Re: First signs of season
I see them!
There is one yard I pass on my morning walk that has a tree trending yellow, and another one showing touches of scarlet. It is one reason my husband and I think we might have an early fall, because that is extremely unusual in middle TN. Our leaves don't normally change before Oct, sometimes even Nov. Of course, the temps have been broiling this week. No relief there.

Fall officially begins exactly one month from today. September 23rd. That's the day of the Autumnal Equinox.

Re: First signs of season
We are having a weather gift today,
It's 30 degrees cooler than it was two days ago and it's cloudy and dreary and damp.
Here is a photo of the glorious sunset that we had two evenings ago.
Our neighborhood borders a family farm on two sides, and the light is what photographers refer to as the golden hour, basically twilight.

Oh, how beautiful!
Our temps plummeted to slightly below broiling this weekend, but forecasters are promising a swift return to normalcy, ie, sweltering.

Walmart and Kroger both have Halloween candy and decorations for sale, and right now our temps are in the 60s and it's cloudy. I am going to screen Rod Zombie's "Halloween" when it gets a little darker to get myself in the spirit for "Little Halloween" which is next Friday.

Oh, wow, that's something!
If weather permits, I'll be attending my daughter's outdoor performance of Pericles that night, so I should get a good view of that moon.

I'm going to put on "Dance Macabre" and observe the full moon in a few.

We were watching daughter performing in Pericles at an outdoor theater in Nashville. Moon was gorgeous.

The weather is Fally today, but nothing looks much like Halloween yet. We just put Shudder on the Roku so we can watch the new Creepshow next week, so the tv is playing mostly horror stuff now. That's kind of a sign.

Over here on the Left Coast, at least the upper part, the temperatures are dropping, the days are rapidly shortening, and color is dotting the hillsides.
This is from my drive over from the coast this morning.

Re: First signs of season
Well, it's official. Tomorrow is the first day of Fall. There's a major sigh of Halloween right there, and October begins just one week from Tuesday. TIS THE SEASON!!
