Party Ideas for Teens

Post by RckyMtnmomx3 » Mon Sep 08, 2008 3:06 pm

Help! I'm planning a party for my preteens and their friends. I'm having refreshments and music but don't want everyone to end up standing around looking at each other. I can't risk any activity that's too babyish that would embarrass them. It will be a costume party. I'd really appreciate any input.

How old are the kids? Just curious.

I would suggest you to rent or buy Halloween DVD - something like The Corpse Bride. Maybe The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Maybe prepare yourself to have some halloween punch for their drinks, put out some snacks and candies on the table. Bake some muffins. Maybe some cakes with ice cream!

Mummy Wrap: Teamsin #'s from 2-? wrap one person with tp. The first one to use the entire roll wins.

Fear Factor: Find edible but discusting feeling food items. Blind fold each participant and feed them. Tell them it is something nasty.

Scary dark room with fog and blacklights is also a hit. No big deal but kids scare themselves!!

Thank you! The kids are 11 and 12. Their 10 year old sister will be the sumo bouncer.

keep everyone involved. There'll be the shy one(s) that you'll need to give extra attention to.

Let's see.

The music must be fun. Compile a cool soundtrack. Refer to the internet for great song suggestions.

Bobbing apples is old school, but it will gather lots of giggles as well.

Try Halloween pinata too.

Sit them all in a circle and pass around a scary story that everyone must add to and see what kind of story it ends up being.

Preteen girls, (my experience through nieces) have that "whatever.." tude. But deep down inside they're still giddy girls.

Keep yourself confident and keep them giggling and the night will be a sucsess.
The dark night beckons. Bear us your soul, it whispers. Expose your wicked delights. Join the rest of us on the wind. The dark night beckons and we answer. Sailing into the shadows.
