Twilight Books by Stephanie Meyer
Has anyone read the Twilight series? I fell in love with these books. Edward is a vampire, Jacob is a warewolf and Bella is the girl in love with both of them.

Some Twilight topics:

I REALLY need to update the movie thread... they revised the release date to November 21st (the old release date for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince).
Did you like Breaking Dawn?
I really think she should have broke it apart into two books. The first, focusing on that major event that the first half of the book sorta "springs" on you. That way, the author could have put in a little more foreshadowing and wrapped up some of the other loose ends surrounding college and her HS relationships (eg- Angela and Ben, etc.). Meyer also probably could have made the rest of the book less predictable that way. The second book should have been the whole Volturi drama. I really thought this ending was anti-climatic. Though, I could see why Aro would do what he did. (Yes, I'm being vague on purpose.) Still, I felt rushed through the whole book... like I was being force-fed an ending that the author just wanted to get out so she could move on to bigger, better things. Granted, her writing isn't bad... but she really rushed through the ending. =/

I read these when I ran out of other vampire books to read, I can't wait for the movie. I do get slightly irritated at her though. Why is Bella so special??? And if it was me, I would have put Jacob in his place. There was one part where I was totally like WTF!!!
(Not trying to give any info out for those who haven't read these yet)

I agree that Breaking Dawn could have been divided. I knew at the beginning who would inprint on who. (That was so predictable.) Why is Bella so special? I think more information on that could have been given. The Volturi thing was also too short. They went all that way just for a few minutes??? What happens with the new found powers? I loved the books, but was left with more questions.
I read that there may be a new book. It will be Twilight from Edward's point of view.
It did leave me wishing a vampire would bite me.
A hot one anyway.

Ok from what I've gathered it's a vampire love story, But is it more vampire? Or more love story? In other words, would a 26 year old guy enjoy it?

Yes, actually... It's called "Midnight Sun" and you can read the first chapter of it online... for FREE. There's a link to it off Stephenie's website here: http://stepheniemeyer.com/midnightsun.htmlshanda wrote:I read that there may be a new book. It will be Twilight from Edward's point of view.
Hmm... well... depends on what you like. My +50 y/o Father-In-Law loved it. My husband (who just turned 27) thought it was okay and read all 4 books. I doubt my own dad would touch it with a 10-foot pole... same with my brother. My sister thought it was "okay" and my mom thought it was lacking a bit. Chicks dig it... but probably mainly because chapter 13 in Twilight is the hottest chapter in the whole book and they barely even kiss. But, there are plenty of guts and gore for the vampire in you too... especially with Bella being as mmm... "accident" prone as she is.OctoberChill wrote:Ok from what I've gathered it's a vampire love story, But is it more vampire? Or more love story? In other words, would a 26 year old guy enjoy it?
If that doesn't whet your pallet, you might consider checking out the trailer over at the Twilight website:

... and I was lucky enough to have a thoughtful friend who went to ComicCon-- She brought these back for me: =)

(...and it still has the December release date on the poster!)
Re: Twilight Books by Stephanie Meyer
I just received the first book in the mail and I'm looking forward to reading it.

That is a cool idea. My cousin really liked the books and I was just about to start reading them myself.

OctoberChill, it's considered a young adult book. So basically for teenage girls maybe starting at 14. But it does go back to a place where you found your first love and nothing else matters. It's worth a read, but not really for the men.

Good luck! It's not that they are written poorly, just that they are written coming from the point of a teenage girl. Not all guys have the same view on romance as a teenage girl might! LOL
But . . . since the movie comes out in December, it might not be a bad idea. Aside from the fact that I wanted to physically hurt Bella and could have pushed Jacob off a cliff, they were pretty decent
