Disappointed with Halloween 2008 products?

Post by Haunt Master » Thu Sep 18, 2008 3:12 pm

Can't find any good masks, costumes, props, tombstones, make-up kits and many more?!?!

Well,I've been everywhere at Target, Party City, K-Mart, Halloween Express, etc. None of them have anything I really want or find more exciting or even amusing!

I just can't seem to find anything really new or interesting... so, am I out of it this year?? Or, should I have to wait until October??? :?
Is everyone experiencing the same thing? Just asking. :D

A deflated spirit! :(

When I get a new gravestone I like to put it in the ground when I get home so I can look at it for a minute to see how it looks. One stone I put in the ground had crappy plastic stakes. When I was trying to put it in the ground one of the cheap plastic stakes broke!! And the stone is really thin foam!

I agree. I've been to Target and Walmart and haven't really seen anything that wowed me. I'll be checking out other stores though soon to see what they have.

See???

I really hated cheap things!! I prefer homemade from someone who is selling or hard cast props from online stores!

And, for those items at the local stores which I can't find at all are not available... I decided to hold all of my money until October! I will find something good and brand new this year! All same and old things need to be replaced the new ones! 8)

Now wait a minute. I agree some stuff will break easy. But Walgreens has gone all out and their stuff is amazing!

Rite aide had some cool stuff. They had some discount items too.
Dollar Tree is good if you like the cheap tacky stuff...but they had some really cool skull goblets this year. Only problem with them goblits is they seem to go FAST.
Dollar General had a few decent things this year...they had these window clings...one looked like bloody hands and stuff...the other looked like a corpse.
I have to agree though...I mean there's a few gems but the selection is highly minimal this year.
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

Yes, so far Walgreens has been the best. I've already spent over $100 there. I did recently go to my local Target.. they dident have much out, but I did find the coolest punch bowl I've ever seen, and matching candle stick holders. I liked Micheals alot this year too, but they are a little more pricey. Rather impressed with my local Spirit store too. Overall, my choices are good here.

Target's home decor stuff was pretty neat. I really love the orange table cloth with skulls. They also have some nice wreaths and whatnot. Micheals has cute little knicknacks, I have not tried JoAnn yet. I do get what you mean about it all seeming the same and not new and exciting though.

Hello Everyone,
It's been a while since I posted, I hope everyone is doing well. I went a Halloween Express in St Peters MO. last week & they had some awesome stuff. A Bride with her head cut off in a black wedding gown, OHHHH I loved her. They also had a bubble fog machine, has anyone seen them? I own a reg. fog machine but would trade it in, in a heart beat for the bubble one, way cool!! Witchy

I went to a store here called Halloween Mart, it's pretty cool, they have good displays! I saw a Bates Motel sign there for $24.95! I'm gonna go back and get it hen I get some more money. I also saw some good things at Smith's (grocery store). Dollar Tree also had some foam headstones, which would really need to be fastened down with something, but for $1, you can't beat it. They had tons of other stuff like Halloween doormats, door covers, potholders, towels, and lots of other awesome stuff! I could spend all of my money just on Halloween stuff, so I have to stay away until I have extra money! lol
By the way, has anyone watched Killer Klowns From Outer Space? It's awesome, I LOVE it! I watched it for the millionth time last night before going to bed : )

I have a simular problem with my halloween lights as I have with my Christmas lights. When one goe sout, they all go out, and I end up buying new ones. It seems that the quality just isn't as prevelent as it use to be.
