Spammers Love Halloween Too!

Post by Haunt Master » Wed Sep 24, 2008 10:56 pm

The closer we get to Halloween, the more spammers like to stop by. Please pray that we will not see any spammers come around here and ruin something like that again!

And, we don't want this happen to turn into a commerical spamfest. :D

We've already got one  The one that's selling fake LV.

Yep. I already saw it today, and I reported to HalloweenCom. He already took care of it, removed it and banned. ;)

Whats a LV?
Halloween wraps fear in innocence,
As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...

Gee, I didn't know Rollex was spelled with 2 'L's
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.

True. If anyone sees it, let me or one of the mods or HM know. ;-)

I can't stand people doing that because it just makes me waste time fixing it.

Yeah! HalloweenCom aka HC is correct... If you see anything like that, no matter what, such as spam messages, smutty ads or porn images, I mean, anything too graphic with non-Halloween or Horror related things, you know? Just send me a PM or email me, and you can also contact HC or one of the moderators here. ;)

FYI: I am always being here online all day and night to secure this Halloween board for HC. :D I really like to keep this Halloween Board clean all the time! ;) Even thru, I really don't like anyone whoever loves to fight each other around here, just like, for example, halloween vs. horror and halloweeners vs. haunters, etc. This is a family-friendly site for everyone here and we must like each other and love each other too.

Well. I'm extremely sorry for the spam I found here today. I've never seen anything so disgusting on a forum before, but it happened before (last year). I apologize to anyone who came upon that <deleted> before I got a chance to nuke it... As Halloween gets near, I'm so sure more losers are going to spam her because of the season. If something looks suspicious, DO NOT FOLLOW any links they provide because they will know the link, came from here and will be back! We'll do our best to keep it clean, but in the event that you see it before we do, please be patient. We'll axe it as we see it! :D

Thanks for your patience!

Ok, I got to add something here from someone else on other forums...

Another point about Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo email accounts. A LOT of people use one of the above types of free email accounts as a secondary, not their primary email accounts. They use them to sign-up online offers and yes, message boards like this one. The reason being, they are afraid to sign-up for anything online, for fear, of having their INBOX flooded with spam emails.

Some less-reputable websites use scams to entice people to reveal their email addresses, then sell it to people who send spam emails. Either that or the site owners themselves send the spam.

So, HalloweenCom, by filtering out these types of email addresses, you are probably filtering out a LOT of Haunters who would have something great to contribute on this forum. Just my two... well, I guess that makes it, three cents!

Hi,
I don't think I am filtering out those email addresses unless the software is filtering it out and I didn't know it. I use gmail myself.

Was there a reason you thought it was being filter?

Ohh, you didn't filter out email addresses... I thought so... some software doesn't work (what I read from other owners)... Yes, I know you have Gmail, but it is still good. Some people do use Gmail, but they can create another accounts such as different names and usernames, you know? They refused to use their REAL email addresses, so instead using different addresses to spam others and on boards as well. I know many spammers are using Hotmail and Yahoo too! It always happens from more than 10 years to now! hee hee

So, your software is working much better than before?

More and more spammers are on their ways to destroy all Halloween and Horror forums right now!!! Be caution!!!

That happenned to other haunt forums too! We have to keep our eyes on these freaking spammers!!!

Well, I know we are getting really tired of all these spammers on our Halloween.com Forum site. I think we should put our minds together, and conjure up a spirit to haunt these jack-asses!! Any takers???
