Got a gift package from my mom

My mom gave me a box full of candy, cup cakes, pretzels and hot cocoa and wrote "Happy Halloween" on the box. Wasn't that nice of her?

That was very nice of her, and yes. I've head that Halloween gift giving is on the rise, and I see plenty of Halloween greeting cards at the greeting card rack at my local drug store. My grand niece's birthday is on October, so bring her a gift for her birthday, and then I bring her and all my other grand nieces something with a Halloween theme to it.

Maybe Halloween is taking over as 'the' holiday because it hasn't lost it's true spiritual foundation like that other holiday I could mention...

That's a good point, Andy. I, of course, will allways thini of that "other holiday" as CHRISTmas, the day I celebrate His birthday, but unfortunately most people only see Christmas as a time of getting. It's really gone down hill in my family. I'm the only one who even bothers to put up a real tree any more.

Halloween, on the other hand, is still seen by many as a spiritual day, and while ToT may not be what it use to be when I was a kid, the day istelf has not lost it's tradition like Christmas has over the years.
